Friday 8 January – Unwarping
Morning
I woke up late—or more accurately, woke up on time, went back to bed, and re-woke-up late. It rained very, very heavily just as I was getting to work, making some exciting lakes.
Evening
I drove up to David’s, left my car there to be serviced and have the front brakes replaced, re-machined, and un-warped, and caught the train back. “Sunshine”—what a silly name for an empty, dismal, somewhat dangerous feeling station.
Saturday 9 January – Steamers: Flooded
Morning
I slept in.
Midday
Maz drove me to David’s and I picked up my car. It cost $230, and now has nice smooth, not warped, and not nearly worn out, brakes, along with new oil and so forth.
Afternoon
After a big rush, picking up Bronwen, packing, getting Maz… we drove out to go for a walk up the Steamers out in the Main Range National Park, but a flooded creek, and our late start, prevented us from reaching our goal.
Night
After driving back, I spent a quiet night alone, not doing much at all.
Sunday 10 January – Lock ‘n’ Load
Day
I had a quiet day.
Evening
After dropping Bronwen off at her work, then out at her place, I went to Lock ‘n’ Load with Kristin, who I met at Woodford, and some of her friends.
Night
After moving to the Rumpus Room, I drove Kristin out to Ipswich, got stuck on the Centenary Highway, which they politely closed just after I entered it to repaint the lines, and eventually went to bed.
Monday 11 January – No Details
No details.
Tuesday 12 January – Twisties
Day
A relatively normal day, wherein I attend work, and work.
9:28pm
Bronwen arrived from climbing, and I called Eagle Boys, got through to their silly ad, and then it went silent. I called back, and got a recorded message saying they were closed. They must have shut while I was on the phone. How frustrating.
Night
I drove over to Maz’s with Twisties and Iced Coffee, and we went for a walk, cut abruptly short by a call from America with problems, making me rush home.
Wednesday 13 January – Up Late
Day
Night
I had a very late night, being woken several times by work, and not getting properly to sleep until around three o’clock.
Thursday 14 January – Up in the Air
Day
I was tired from my lack of sleep, but managed to survive, though I did get to work nearly an hour late.
7pm
Bronwen and I went and saw “Up in the Air” at Southbank. I had hoped it would be like “Thank You for Smoking”, but sadly, while there were similarities, it wasn’t really, and wasn’t anywhere as good.
Night
Bronwen and I drove over to Maz’s, then we all walked, and walked, and walked, ending up out at the Indooroopilly Golf Club, and not getting to bed until quite late.
Friday 15 January – Relaxing
Day
I had a sleepy, but mostly uneventful, day at work
Night
I had a quiet night at home, watching a little Top Gear, utilising the internet for a while, and generally relaxing—along with a little cleaning.
Saturday 16 January – Moving Stuff
9am
I picked up a potential flatmate from the train station, and showed them around the house, before driving to Indooroopilly and changing my bank accounts into fee-free ones.
Morning
I helped Maz move stuff to his new place.
2:15pm
I showed three girls my available rooms.
Afternoon
I lazed about.
Night
I picked up Bronwen from her parent’s place, and we had curry from Halim’s, along with Maz.
