Sunday 14th February – Valentine’s Day & the Vigil for Baby Asha

Stradbroke Island

Bronwen was at Stradbroke Island.

The Vigil for Baby Asha

I drove into Kangaroo Point, where I nearly melted, and had a look at the vigil going on at Lady Cilento Hospital for baby Asha—a child who was sent there for treatment is to be sent back to the refugee camp on Nauru but the doctors are refusing to release her until they can be assured she has a “safe home environment” to go to, and a dedicated group of supporters are holding a vigil demanding that her—and her family—be allowed to stay.

Maz’s

I drove over to Maz’s and we went to Hanaichi at Indooroopilly for lunch. I ended up staying at Maz’s very late, getting to bed after 5 AM.
