Sunday 18th March – Mt May & Burleigh Bongos
Mt May
I awoke un-dehydrated, and after a quick breakfast at 6:30 AM—followed by some waiting for Hannah to turn up—Ben, Bronwen, Hannah, Sophia, Wendy and I set off walking up Mount May. It wasn’t a particularly hard or long walk, but I was quite unfit, possibly still slightly dehydrated or something from yesterday, and it was very hot, so I felt it more than the rest and had difficulty keeping up. We got to the top around 10:30, and I was pleased to find that the walk down was much easier and we were back at the bottom by 12:30—and to our surprise, swimming in a fantastic waterhole complete with waterfall. It took around an hour and a half up, and about 2 and a half hours down.
Rathdowney
After our lovely swim we left camp and drove to Rathdowney, where Bronwen and I parted ways with the ATA Crew, and continued on to Justins Park in Burleigh—via Coles at Nerang Fair Shopping Centre and ALDI Mudgeeraba for some food.
Burleigh Bongos
We got to Burleigh around 4 and Bronwen did some acro before it got dark, after which I took some photos of the fire twirling. Then, just after 9 PM, we drove the hour’s drive home.
