Sunday 30th May – Coffee Crunch & Chrome
Coronavirus Lockdown Day 434
1,618 cases: 2 new (acquired overseas), 14 active.
Coffee Crunch & Chrome
Bronwen and I got up absurdly early and drove out to Joe’s Diner to have a look at “Coffee Crunch & Chrome”—a car meetup. Apparently car enthusiasts get up ridiculously early—the meetup started at 6 AM and finished at 9:30 AM.
Green Heart Fair
After looking at many cars we drove to 7th Brigade Park in Chermside and had a look at the Green Heart Fair. Apparently people go to this quite early too—we got there just after it opened at 9 AM, and it was already very busy. Bronwen met a shiny yellow snake and made a hanging plant, so was happy.
Currumbin Alley
Having finished with two events before breakfast, we drove home and then drove down to Currumbin Alley where we sat about in the water on our surfboards pretending we could surf until it got dark.
Burleigh Bongos & Fire Twirling
After “surfing”, we drove to Justins Park in Burleigh Heads where I took photos of some of the people fire twirling. I’ve finally got used to my new camera enough that I can now (often) make adjustments fast enough to capture people in the challenging and rapidly varying levels of light while they’re playing with fire.
