This poster introduced the two characters: Frau Keppelmeier and Herr Semperer. “Sempern” is slang for ‘complain.” The poem runs:

Frau Keppelmeier, as one can see,
Is deeply troubled as can be.
Herr Semperer, on the other hand,
Eagerly hears the rumor she tells.
