Saturday 7th February – Rio Rhythmics Carnaval
Morning
Bronwen nailed lizards to the wall. I opened a late birthday present from my sister.
Afternoon
Bronwen and I drove to the city and had a look at a Canon 70D, I having become increasingly disenchanted with all the cameras Canon has made recently, all of which seems to have fallen a long way behind the competition (the new 7D has image quality comparable to a five year old Nikon… and the highest-ranked Canon in dxomark’s tests is at number 32… for example), and having decided to simply buy a cheaper camera which will take photos up until such time that someone releases a good camera worth me buying.
Then we had a look at two large feet and two large Hummers outside City Hall before getting some curry from Vegerama and walking to South Bank where we had a look at “CUSP: Designing into the Next Decade” at the State Library of QLD. While the pedal-powered air travel was amusing, I certainly hope no taxpayer dollars were wasted on it. We also popped into the freewheeling bicycle exhibition at the museum.
Night
After learning all about what’s certainly not going to be designed in the next decade, we made our way to the “Rio Rhythmics Carnaval Parade” in West End.
Website inspired by Rio 2, as a learning exercise.
